The first thing to do is to log on. If your name is shown in the top right-hand corner of the page, then you're already logged on!
Start by selecting the card you'd like to send. You'll find shortcuts to all our most recent and most popular cards on our home page, as well as links to the category pages (e.g. Happy Birthday).
To have a look at a card before sending it, just click Preview this Card. Notice that when you preview a card, it opens up in a new browser tab or window. When you've finished the preview, click Send this card right at the bottom of the preview page: this will show a new page where you can enter the name and email address of the recipient, and the message you'd like to have written on the card. Or if you'd like to continue looking for a card, click Choose another card and you'll return to where you were.
If you don't need to preview a card, you can also click the Send this card link on any of the category pages, or you can preview any card complete with your message if you click the Preview Card button on the Send a Card page.
Many of our cards have a variety of optional greetings or captions - such as Thinking of You, Happy Birthday, Thank You and so on. The captions available depend on the card - we wouldn't have Merry Christmas as an option on a Birthday card, for instance! You can choose the caption you'd like for your card. Just above the box where you entered your message you'll see an option labelled Select Greeting. Simply click on the little arrow and then click the caption you'd like.
If you'd like to see how the card will look with your caption and message, just click the "Preview Card" button (right at the bottom of the page) and you'll see it just like the recipient will see it. When you've finished, click "Continue" and you'll be back at the "Send a Card" page.
When you're ready to send the card, just click the "Send Card" button at the bottom of the page, underneath the box where you entered your message.
If you're a Facebook user, you can also post a card on your own or a friend's Facebook Wall. You'll find a Facebook "f" icon on the "Send a Card" page - just click this and a new page will appear where you can connect to Facebook and send the card. This is a great way of sending cards because it avoids any hassles with email addresses, non-delivery notices, spam filters and so forth. But do be aware that depending on your friend's Facebook setup, others may be able to read your message, so if you're sending a very private message it's best to use the normal method of sending cards!
You can also book a card to be sent at some future date - for example, if you're going to be away on someone's birthday. Just proceed exactly as above, but look for where it says "Date card to be sent". Normally, the option to "Send card immediately" will be selected, but if you select a date (up to a year in the future) then the card won't be sent right away and instead, we'll keep all the details - recipient name and address, caption and message - and send the card on the date you specify. You need never miss another birthday!
When you log in to jacquielawson.com, you may have noticed an extra menu bar appears near the top of the page (it's bright orange instead of the usual tasteful blue)! This menu bar contains options which are only available to members of jacquielawson.com. They include:
My Details. This is a secure page where you can tell us your name, email address and postal address. You can also set the options for automatic renewal of your membership, including the credit card details which you'd like us to use. You can find out from this page how much longer your membership will last, and you can change your password here too. You can also tell us what emails you'd like us to send you - for example, if you'd like us to send you our newsletters, and notifications when your cards have been sent or viewed.
Address Book. This page lets you set up a list of names and email addresses to make it easier to send cards to your friends and family. Better still, you can record everyone's birthdays, and if you do this then our computer will automatically send you a reminder a week or so before each birthday, so you have plenty of time to send a card.
Cards Pending. This is a list of cards which you've ordered but have not yet been sent.
Card History. This is a list of all the cards you've sent in the past. Great for making sure you don't send the same card twice to the same person!
Screensavers. Brighten up your computer screen with a Jacquie Lawson screensaver! Every so often we take one of our popular cards and turn it into a screensaver, which can be downloaded free of charge by our members.
