Peering into the rear-view mirror, we feel blessed and lucky. Beth’s therapy practice remains successful. I’m privileged to lead a great team at Maryland’s state DOT. The biggest milestone for us: After a grueling monthslong series of auditions, Joy landed a spot in the Musical Theater BFA program at Slippery Rock University in neighboring PA. She last performed onstage there in December, regaling the audience (including us) with a rendition of “Before It’s Over” from the off-Broadway musical Dogfight. Back home, Beth and I adjust to empty nesthood thanks to friends and hobbies. I ran my 9th and 10th half-marathons and Beth has taken up tap-dancing again.
