This hymn gets me every time. Oh, that the world would know such peace. I have had trouble in the current tends of things finding the Christ child. The belief that privilege is given to some to help uplift others, seems to have taken a back seat to blatant greed. The miracle of the child of God being cloaked with our humanity to show us the way to love, and heal and save one another, seems to be lost in all the artificially produced 'magic' of Christmas. Yet, in the stillness, in the choir's song, in the light of a single candle on the darkest night, I can still find him. The assurance that there is always the hope of a better tomorrow and an eternity filled with love. God came to reach out to us and lead us home. God bless you, everyone.
